The Type C-2 was adopted by the U.S. Army Air Forces in the early 1940s for pilots. It was designed to be worn as an inner layer under the A-2 flight jacket for warmth, resulting in a tight silhouette. Originally made of wool knit, this version is made of densely woven, heavy-duty 16-count cotton yarn, providing excellent warmth. The cotton construction also allows for easy washing.
